How Long Does a CrossFit Workout Last? A typical CrossFit workout takes 1 hour. This is usually divided into a 5 minute explanation of the the exercises, 10 minutes of warm up, 15 minutes of strength and skill work, 20 minutes of high intensity workout, followed by 10 minutes of cool down and streching.

For the average gym goer, CrossFit courses are usually 20–30 mns, sometimes 40, for advanced crossfitters. The time spent in the gym is probably more, adding preworkout activity like warmup or low intensity cardio. IMHO, lifting weights after session like that is quite rewarding, the whole body running at top speed.

Longest workout has been 42 minutes, most in the 18-25 minute range. Rower for 90% of the workouts, also use an Echo bike when I feel like hating myself for a while. 3 level 1

At 18 we have the CrossFit classic Fran, probably the best known CrossFit workout of all time. The Workout. 21 – 15 – 9 Reps Thruster 95lbs Pull-Ups. Analysis: If you have only heard of one Crossfit workout this is probably it. This WOD is shorter than the other workouts on this list but that doesn’t mean it is any less brutal.

Relative intensity refers to how it makes you feel. When you are on the clock doing a workout, push yourself to 80-85% of capacity. Not an all-out sprint that will leave you in a pile after two minutes, but a controlled, fast pace that can be maintained over the entire workout. This is not a “do a set and then rest a minute” program.
