CF shoes are not as good for weightlifting as dedicated lifting shoes (even that could be multiple different pairs depending on the lift). But most lifters I would not even want to run 20ft in. CF shoes are not as good for running as running shoes - but running shoes are horrible to lift in as they are squishy and unstable.

I've used running shoes in CrossFit for WODs that didn't have heavy lifts. However, once I got to month 2 and was more comfortable actually putting weight on the bar and focusing on the minutia of proper form, I noticed that the running should was too soft in the heal and my ankles would cave.

By doing a hard run + CrossFit on the same day, it allows me a day of complete rest or very easy miles the next day. If I do a hard run one day and do Crossfit the next day, my body responds as if it’s under more stress continually.
