Can't do pull-ups, can I still do crossfit. I can't do any pull-ups. Maybe one if I haven't exerted my arms at all. However, I can do some dips. 2-3 sets of 10 dips. About 40-50 push-ups without stopping. I can bench press 240lbs, dead lift 260lbs, and squat 270lbs. I can run a mile in about 8mins for a max of about 2 miles.

7 years ago. There's no part of Fran that says that "kipping" pull ups are prescribed. If you can't get 21 straight strict, then split each set up into two smaller sets with a short break (ie 12-9, 8-7, 5-4). Scaling will only make you feel under accomplished (as long as you can safely handle the weights/movements).

Crossfit has also changed why I want to be lean and mean. It's not for my summer bod, honestly it's not even for health (short term anyway), it's so I can challenge myself and my gym friends. When you're a big dude the bike and rower may be awesome but as soon as they start throwing a lot of running or rig work at you it's like "oh no, my kryptonite!!".
